trip postponement

There has been a slight change of plans with regards to my trip. Just a slight change.

The other day my sister reminded me that Mother’s day was coming up, and that I was going to be gone for it. Which isn’t cool. My planned date of departure has been the second of May for some months, but I’ve decided I can push that day back a week to be home for my mom on Mother’s Day.

In addition to being home for my mom, I get another week to plan bike trips with friends, and to work on getting all of my Micro Four Thirds gear sold and shipped … because I bought a Fuji X-Pro2, and have fallen in love with it. Paired with the new 35mm f/2, I’m getting a 50mm equivalent focal length in a fully weather sealed kit, that seems to produce gorgeous results without any effort. This also means I’ll be taking one lens on my trip, instead of three. I’m back in the Fuji fam.

So, assuming I’m able to get these sales taken care of, the trip should go on as planned, and I should be on the road May 9th. (And if the last item sells as quickly as the first two, this shouldn’t pose a problem.)

The day is approaching fast. Each time the weekend comes around I feel like it’s been no time at all since the last. I thought I should start riding daily to get myself used to it. So I did about thirty miles for three days each, then got very lazy and laid about the house quite a bit. Didn’t ride anywhere really the last couple of days, but I hope to change that pattern soon. In any case, once I get on the road I won’t have a choice — and I’ll actually have somewhere to go, which will be helpful.

Here’s wishing you a lovely weekend, you lovely people!
