I never used to cry during movies, but I come darn near to doing so nowadays. One scene that always gets me is the part in The Fellowship of the Ring where Gandalf falls fighting the Balrog (even though we know of course, he let go), and the music that Howard Shore composed for this sequence is just … glorious.
I used GarageBand to remove the ending from the track Khazad-Dûm — which is what plays when Gandalf falls and that whole heart-breaking scene unfolds — so that I could conveniently listen to it over and over and over again. I’m posting it here with a download link for all to enjoy.
I hope this makes you cry. (As beautiful things are wont to do to me.)
