Emmanuel at Harmon

Back in June I had an idea for a photoshoot that I wanted to do with a friend. A few text messages and chats later, Emmanuel and I met up at a parking garage in Fayetteville and made some images. Not only are these photos the best ones from that shoot, but a number of them are among my very favourite photos I’ve made to date. Emmanuel did a fantastic job, and I was so happy to get the finished shots to him. It was hardly even work to edit these. I hope you enjoy them.

love,

— Joel

Geeky Things

  • Camera: Fuji X-Pro2

  • Lenses: Fuji 35mm f/2, 90mm f/2, Minolta Rokkor PF 58mm f/1.4

  • Location: Harmon Parking Garage, Fayetteville, AR

  • Notes: The number one person I take inspiration from these days when it comes to photography is Phil Sharp, a portrait photographer from England. Phil is a master of shaping light, and this shoot and the way I chose to do it was largely inspired by him. I tried to use the setting sun in a way similar to how Phil lights some of his portraits, and while I wouldn’t say I achieved the same results, I am very happy with what I got.
